Aizip Announces Comprehensive Coverage of IoT Processor Platforms

Saratoga, CA, December 22, 2021 – Aizip, Inc., a technology leader in artificial intelligence (AI) for applications on the Internet of Things (IoT), announced today support for the RISC-V Platform, a new member of its wide range of supported hardware platforms.

There is a rich selection of tiny machine learning (TinyML) applications on diversified IoT processing platforms, such as MCU, NPU, and DSP. Depending on the specific scenario, a customer may choose one of these hardware platforms for considerations such as cost, performance, and power consumption. An emerging platform for the IoT market is RISC-V, which is an open standard instruction set architecture (ISA) based on established reduced instruction set computer principles. Unlike most other ISA designs, the RISC-V ISA is provided under open-source licenses that do not require fees to use.

In addition to the advantage of free licenses, RISC-V architecture is known for its simplicity and clean-slate design. It provides great modularity and extensibility, and is therefore easy to scale to a large number of CPU cores. RISC-V architecture also provides excellent low-power support, which is a critical feature for many of the IoT applications. As such, more and more IC companies have added RISC-V to their portfolio since its origin in 2010 at the University of California at Berkeley.

“We have recently seen a steady growth in the adoption of RISC-V in the marketplace,” commented Yuan Lu, President and Co-Founder of Aizip. “We have invested significant engineering resources in the RISC-V platform, and we have successfully delivered TinyML models to our customers for the RISC-V chips.” Aizip plans to add more models on the RISC-V platform, covering its complete TinyML portfolio in Aizip Intelligent Vision (AIV), Aizip Intelligent Audio (AIA), and Aizip Intelligent Time-Series (AIT).

With the support of RISC-V, Aizip now claims full coverage of all the leading IoT processor platforms in MCU, NPU, RISC-V, and DSP. Together with its proprietary automated design tools, the wide range of supported hardware platforms will allow Aizip to lead the industry in fast deployment time and return-on-investment (ROI).

Aizip partners with both leading and emerging IC companies worldwide in serving module and system customers. Aizip is committed to bringing low-cost and high-performance intelligence for the benefit of society worldwide. For more information, please contact info@aizip.ai.
